End-to-End Solutions for Nuclear Materials Shipping

NAC International offers comprehensive nuclear material packaging systems and transportation services. NAC’s fleet of certified transportation packages provide safe and secure transportation solutions for spent nuclear fuel, radioactive waste, and other nuclear materials.

Our highly versatile NAC-Legal Weight Truck (NAC-LWT) cask system has more than 50 International Cask Validations and we have successfully obtained over 75 revisions to its NRC Certificate of Compliance to authorize shipment of a broad variety of authorized contents. We continue to drive forward new transport packaging designs such as our new OPTIMUS® casks, designed and licensed for a broad range of nuclear materials and for ease of use. Our history of transportation success demonstrates our readiness to transport storage canisters in NAC’s NRC-certified STC, UMS UTC and MAGNATRAN casks to a consolidated interim storage facility or a repository for disposal, when available. 

NAC has more than 40 years of proven experience providing nuclear materials transportation services using NAC’s NRC-licensed cask fleet. NAC has successfully completed more than 3,800 cask shipments of radioactive materials, spent fuel and high-level waste, logging over 7 million miles of safe and secure nuclear materials transportation.

Our transportation customers include nuclear utilities, commercial companies, universities, U.S. and Canadian National Laboratories, the U.S. Department of Energy, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and other government agencies. We have obtained over 150 NRC-approved licenses or license amendments for our transport system designs, as well as numerous worldwide license certificates and validations.
